Extech 407732-KIT Type 2 Sound Meter Kit
The Extech 407732-KIT is a professional Type 2 sound level meter kit that combines a dual-range handheld meter with a sound calibrator and accessories, offering a ready-to-use solution for field noise surveys, compliance checks and equipment verification.
Description
This kit includes the 407732 sound level meter (a dual-range device covering approximately 35–100 dB in the low range and 65–130 dB in the high range) and the 407722 calibrator (producing a 1 kHz sine wave at ~94 dB or 114 dB) mounted together in a hard-carrying case along with a windscreen for the microphone, calibration screwdriver, 9 V battery and other accessories. The meter itself meets ANSI and IEC Type 2 accuracy requirements (basic accuracy around ±1.5 dB), supports selectable A & C frequency weightings, Fast/Slow response times, back-lit LCD display for field readability, Data-Hold and Max-Hold functions for freezing or capturing maximum readings. The calibrator ensures field verification of the meter’s performance, allowing users to check the instrument on site rather than sending it out for calibration. The hard case holds all parts securely for transport and field work. Applications include workplace noise exposure surveys, equipment installation checks, community noise measurement, and general acoustic monitoring tasks.
