Extech 42570 Dual Laser InfraRed Thermometer

This instrument is engineered for use in environments where high temperatures and accurate targeting matter. With a dual-laser aiming system, it shows the exact measurement spot by converging two laser points into a roughly 1 inch diameter spot when at the correct distance (around 50″ / 127 cm). This ensures you’re measuring the right area even at a distance. The 50:1 optics allow you to safely measure small targets from far away — useful in hard-to-reach or hazardous areas. The infrared measurement range extends from approximately –58 °F to 3992 °F (–50 °C to 2200 °C), and the integrated Type K thermocouple input adds contact measurement capability from –58 °F to 2498 °F (–50 °C to 1370 °C). The instrument supports adjustable emissivity (0.10 to 1.00) for accurate readings on different surface materials, offers a fast 100 ms response time, and provides functions such as MAX, MIN, AVG and DIF to help analyze temperature trends or identify hot spots. A backlit multifunction LCD with bar-graph gives clear visual feedback, and high/low alarm set-points with audible alerts enable proactive monitoring. The unit also connects via USB for data transfer and includes software, a tripod mount for hands-free use, a carrying case, probe, and battery — all tailored for industrial inspections, motor/equipment monitoring, furnace checks, and power-generation contexts where precision matters.
