Extech 461950 Panel Mount Tachometer

This instrument is built for installation in panels—it fits the standard 1/8-DIN cut-out (approx. 92×45 mm) and is powered from AC mains (115/230 V, 50/60 Hz) so it can be mounted into control panels for live monitoring of machinery speeds. It supports optional sensor pickups: a proximity sensor for very high speeds (up to ~36,000 RPM/600 Hz) with a target distance of ~0.1″ (3 mm), and a photo-electric sensor for speeds up to ~6,000 RPM (100 Hz) with a target distance of ~0.4″ (10 mm). The tachometer itself reads from 5 to 99,990 RPM, offering a resolution of 0.1 RPM in the lower range (5-1000 RPM), 1 RPM (1000-9999 RPM), and 10 RPM (10,000-99,990 RPM) with a specified accuracy of ±0.05% + 1 digit. The display is a large 4-digit LED, updated once per second when the RPM is >60, giving clear real-time speed indication. The physical dimensions of the bezel are approximately 96 × 48 mm, making it suitable for standard panel mounting, and wiring terminals are provided for sensor input, supply voltage and grounding. The unit is suited for measuring motor shafts, fans, pumps, propellers, gear-systems—even single-hole gears—thanks to its ability to count single pulses per revolution instead of requiring special gear teeth setups. It is ideal for industrial control, machine-monitoring, and panel-mounted instrumentation tasks.
