Description
This instrument is built for speed and clarity. With a 12:1 distance-to-spot ratio the IR270 allows you to target and measure smaller areas from a safe distance. The built-in laser pointer aids in precise aiming. Its measurement range covers from roughly -20 °C (-4 °F) up to about 650 °C (1202 °F), enabling use on everything from building surfaces to industrial equipment. The device also features an adjustable emissivity setting (0.10 to 1.00) to improve accuracy across different materials, selectable °C/°F units, and measurement modes including MAX, MIN, AVG and DIF (difference). It supports a memory of up to 20 readings and includes an audible high/low alarm in addition to the colour-changing display. The backlit LCD ensures readability even in low-light conditions. Lightweight and portable (around 150 g / 5.3 oz) with a 9 V battery included, it fits comfortably in a service kit. Because it gives immediate visual cues through the colour alert display, it’s especially useful when scanning equipment or surfaces for anomalies rather than relying purely on numeric read-outs.
