Extech MA63 60A True RMS AC/DC Clamp Meter with NCV
The Extech MA63 is a true RMS clamp meter capable of measuring both AC and DC current (up to 60 A). It also includes non-contact voltage (NCV) detection and a variety of multimeter functions, making it a flexible tool for electrical diagnostics and field work.
Description
The MA63 is a manual-ranging clamp meter designed for professionals who require accurate measurements even in noisy or distorted electrical environments. It offers three current ranges for AC measurements (600 mA, 6000 mA, 60 A) plus DC measurement ranges (6000 mA and 60 A). To help with inspections and safety, it includes a built-in non-contact voltage (NCV) detector that alerts you to live circuits without making direct connections.
A notable feature is “VFC” (variable frequency control), which inserts a low-pass filter to better handle signals from variable-frequency drives (VFDs) and reduce interference. In addition to current and voltage, it supports resistance, capacitance, frequency, diode testing, and continuity checks. The display is a backlit 6000-count LCD. The meter also includes data hold, auto power off, and full-range overload protection. A ZERO function allows nulling out offset when measuring DC current.
With its compact jaws (≈ 17 mm opening), it can clamp conductors in tight locations. It meets safety ratings of CAT II 600 V and CAT III 300 V, making it suited for many industrial and commercial environments.
