Description
The Extech MO290 is a versatile diagnostic tool designed for professionals who need precise and efficient moisture and environmental measurements. This all-in-one 8-in-1 meter combines multiple measurement functions in a single device, improving both productivity and reliability in the field. It provides both pin and pinless measurement options. The pinless mode employs a non-invasive electromagnetic sensor to detect moisture up to 0.75 inches (19 mm) below the surface without damaging materials. For direct and highly accurate readings, the included remote pin-type probe (MO290-P) allows contact measurements, making it suitable for various wood species and building materials.
Featuring a built-in infrared thermometer, the MO290 can measure surface temperatures without contact. With an 8:1 distance-to-spot ratio and a fixed emissivity of 0.95, it accurately measures surfaces from -4°F to 392°F (-20°C to 200°C), helping detect temperature variations that may indicate moisture-related problems. The device also includes a humidity and temperature probe, capable of measuring relative humidity from 0% to 100% and air temperature from -20°F to 170°F (-29°C to 77°C). It can calculate dew point, vapor pressure, and grains per pound (GPP), providing a complete picture of environmental conditions important for assessing condensation and moisture risks.
The MO290 offers a large backlit dual-display that shows moisture content and environmental readings simultaneously, ensuring clear visibility in all lighting conditions. Programmable high/low alarms for moisture and humidity levels allow quick identification of problem areas. Additional features include data hold, min/max recording, and auto power-off for convenience and energy efficiency.
