Extech PQ34-12 1200A Current Clamp Probes

The PQ34-12 current clamp probe set offers a professional-grade solution for measuring AC currents up to 1,200 A in power systems. Each probe in the set features three selectable ranges — 20 A, 200 A and 1,200 A — allowing flexibility across light to heavy load measurements. The jaw opening is approximately 50 mm (2 inches), enabling the probe to clamp around single conductors, small cables or busbars. On the lowest range (20 A), output sensitivity is 10 mV per amp, on the 200 A range it is 1 mV per amp, and on the 1,200 A range it is 0.1 mV per amp. These probes maintain high accuracy (±1 % full scale at 50/60 Hz) with phase error below 1° in the same range, over a frequency bandwidth from 45 Hz to 400 Hz. The minimum load requirement is 100 kΩ for the accuracy specification to apply, and the output is AC-coupled. The cable length is around 4 m, giving adequate reach from the clamp to the host analyser. Safety-wise, the probes are rated for indoor use in installations up to over-voltage category III at 600 V, with double insulation and UL 94-V0 enclosures.
