The PQ3450‑12 kit is built for engineers, facility managers and maintenance technicians who work with three‑phase power systems and need to capture detailed performance and energy‑use data over time. For such applications, the device offers a rugged, over‑moulded housing and a large back‑lit dot‑matrix LCD screen for clear viewing in the field.In use, you connect the included voltage leads (with alligator clips) to the phase/ground nodes and attach the three supplied 1200 A current clamps to the conductors. The device then measures voltages, currents, phase‑to‑phase and phase‑to‑ground, and computes derived values like true power (kW), apparent power (kVA), reactive power (kVAR), energy (kWh, kVAh, kVARh), phase angles and power factors. It supports both 3‑phase three‑wire (3P3W) and three‑phase four‑wire (3P4W) systems.Data logging is a key feature: you can set sampling intervals from as fast as 2 seconds up to 2 hours, and the unit stores up to 30,000 reading sets on an SD card (which can be downloaded into Excel for further analysis). This makes it especially useful for energy audits, trend monitoring, load profiling and power‑quality logging.The device also offers advanced setup options for large power‑distribution systems: you can program CT (current transformer) and PT (potential transformer) ratios (CT range 1‑600, PT range 1‑1000) which allows scaling of measured values for systems with external transformers.On the safety side, the meter supports up to 600 V AC measurement (phase to phase) and carries a CAT III‑600 V rating, meaning it’s suitable for many industrial electrical distribution applications.
