Extech SDL600 Sound Level Meter/Datalogger
The SDL600 is a high-precision sound level meter with an integrated datalogger, designed for professionals who need to monitor, record and analyze noise levels. It covers a broad 30 to 130 dB range, supports both A and C frequency weightings and includes a real-time SD card data logger that outputs readings in Excel format for easy post-analysis.
Description
The SDL600 offers laboratory-grade accuracy (±1.4 dB) and is calibrated to meet ANSI and IEC Class 2 standards. It accommodates a wide measurement range from very quiet to loud environments (30–130 dB) and offers both automatic and manual ranging to suit different use-cases. The large backlit LCD ensures good visibility in all lighting conditions, while the instrument features selectable ‘A’ or ‘C’ weighting and fast (125 ms) or slow (1 s) response times to match the measurement task.
For long-term monitoring the SDL600 stands out: it records data with real date/time stamps, supports automatic sampling rates from 1 up to 3,600 seconds, and archives either up to 99 manual readings or as many as 20 million records using a 2 GB SD card. The logged files are compatible with spreadsheet programs, making further analysis straightforward. Additional features include a 0.5 V AC analog output for connection to external devices, Min/Max and Data Hold functions, auto power-off (which can be disabled), and supply via six AA batteries (with optional AC adaptor). The robust package includes a windscreen, SD card, batteries and a hard carrying case.
