Extech VFM200 VOC/Formaldehyde Meter

The Extech VFM200 is engineered to provide on-the-spot monitoring of air quality by simultaneously measuring VOC and formaldehyde concentrations. It features a sensitive formaldehyde fuel-cell sensor and a MOS semiconductor sensor for VOCs. The meter displays readings with a resolution of 0.01 ppm over ranges up to 5.00 ppm for formaldehyde and 9.99 ppm for VOCs.

Its response time is rapid—typically under 2 seconds—allowing for quick detection of changes in air chemistry. Users can set high/low thresholds and receive visual and audible alerts when limits are exceeded, facilitating safety monitoring in indoor environments. The device uses a rechargeable lithium-ion battery and can also be powered by AC. It’s compact and handheld, with a clear LCD display and intuitive controls.

The VFM200 supports selectable units (ppm or mg/m³) and provides auto power-off to conserve battery life. It’s often used in assessing air quality in homes, schools, offices, hotels, factories, and other indoor areas.
