The Fluke PRV240FS Proving Unit is designed with maximum safety and compliance in mind, making it an essential tool for technicians working with live electrical systems. It enables you to verify that your T6 electrical tester and other instruments are functioning correctly without unnecessary exposure to electrical shock or arc flash hazards. By using the PRV240FS, you can safely confirm your test tool’s accuracy before and after live measurements, reducing the need for personal protective equipment (PPE) when a known voltage source isn’t available. However, PPE is still required for absence-of-voltage testing when appropriate.
This proving unit features a single switch and LED indicators that confirm the proper operation of both AC and DC measurements with test leads, as well as FieldSense™ “no-test-lead” voltage measurement capability, making it a simple and reliable solution for verifying your tools. Designed to work seamlessly with all high impedance instruments, the PRV240FS also supports a wide range of applications and enhances workplace safety.
Built for convenience, the PRV240FS includes a TPAK™ magnetic hanging strap for hands-free use and operates on four AA batteries, delivering up to 2,000 tests per battery set with an average of 10 seconds per test. The proving unit also supports Fluke’s “Test Before Touch” (TBT) method, allowing you to check your T6 tester against a known live source both before and after taking a reading to ensure accuracy.
Engineered for durability and safety, voltage is supplied through a central hub for testing the T6 FieldSense open fork and through recessed contacts that activate when probes are inserted, preventing accidental contact with live points. Compliant with IEC61010-1 and IEC61010-2-030 safety standards, the PRV240FS provides the reliability, safety, and performance technicians need in the field.
