Hioki PW3365 Clamp On Power Logger
The PW3365 is a clamp-on power logger designed to safely record electrical power and quality data (voltage, current, power, harmonics, etc.) using clamp sensors and non-metallic voltage clips. It supports various circuit types, long-term data storage, and guided connection setup to avoid user errors.
Description
The PW3365 is a portable power logging instrument built for safety, convenience, and versatility. Its design uses non-metallic, fully insulated voltage clips so the user can measure voltage by clamping around insulated cables or busbars without risking short circuits or exposed live contacts. It supports single-phase and three-phase circuits (up to four wires), and with appropriate clamp sensors, it measures current across a wide range — from small currents to thousands of amperes. The logger captures numerous parameters including RMS values, waveform fundamentals, phase angles, power (active, reactive, apparent), power factor, energy (consumed and regenerated), demand values, and harmonics up to the 13th order. Data are saved either internally or on SD/SDHC cards at selectable intervals, and the device includes a “Quick Set” mode to assist correct connections, plus graphical displays of trends, maximum/minimum/average values. It can run off mains or battery power, has a color display, and offers a number of interfaces for data download and remote monitoring.
Features
- Non-metallic, fully insulated voltage clips for safe voltage measurement without exposed metal.
- Supports single-phase and three-phase, 4-wire circuits using clamp sensors (which are sold separately).
- Voltage measurement effective range: approx. 90 V to 520 V AC.
- Current measurement from small AC currents up to several kiloamperes depending on sensor; also supports leak current clamps.
- Harmonic analysis up to the 13th order, including THD for both voltage and current.
- Wide set of logged measurement items: RMS & fundamental values, phase angles, active/reactive/apparent power, energy (consumed/regenerated), power factor (lag/lead), demand (active and reactive), waveform peaks.
- Data logging to internal memory or SD/SDHC cards with selectable save intervals (from seconds to minutes), plus ability to record maximum, minimum, average values.
- Graphical display showing trend graphs, demand graphs, cursor control to view min/max/average; as well as guidance through “Quick Set” to ensure correct wiring/clamp connection.
- Portable power supply: operates from AC adapter or battery pack; battery lasts several hours; device has backup for settings/clock.
- Compact, rugged design with optional accessories (different current clamps, safety voltage sensor, etc.), suitable for long field use.
