Description
The DT4261 is built to handle a variety of electrical measurement tasks with precision and durability. It supports DC voltage measurements from millivolts up to 1000 V, and AC voltage measurements across a similarly wide range, with True RMS functionality to account for non-ideal waveforms and distortion. Current measurements include both DC and AC, and there is an option to use clamp-on probes to measure larger AC currents. It also measures resistance (from small ohms to tens of megohms), capacitance (from microfarads to millifarads), frequency, continuity, and diode tests, among other functions.
On the design and safety side, the DT4261 has protections like terminal shutters that prevent leads being inserted into the wrong ports, a fuse check function, and warnings (visual) for excessive input. It is drop-resistant (able to tolerate a fall from about 1 meter) and operates over a wide temperature range (from about -25 °C up to +65 °C). The meter also supports wireless data transfer (with an adapter), and even can send measured values directly into spreadsheet templates. It runs on AA batteries and provides good operating time; it weighs roughly half a kilogram including batteries and leads.
