Description

The DT4282 is designed for advanced users who need accuracy, safety, and versatility in one instrument. It features high resolution, being a 60,000-count (5-digit) unit, allowing finer distinctions in measurements. Its DC voltage basic accuracy is very tight (±0.025%), and the AC voltage measurement works reliably over a wide frequency range, from low frequencies up to 100 kHz. To help when measuring inverter outputs or otherwise non-pure waveforms, it has a low-pass filter mode that helps isolate the fundamental component.

This model includes a direct 10 A input so you can measure moderate currents without needing external clamps, which improves convenience. It also supports many measurement types: DC/AC voltage, DC/AC current, resistance, capacitance, frequency, diode test, continuity, and temperature via thermocouple. There is dual display—main and sub displays—so you can monitor, for example, voltage and frequency at the same time.

On safety and usability: it has terminal shutters to prevent misinsertion of leads, overcurrent protection (fuses), and is rated for high safety categories (CAT IV / CAT III) for high-voltage environments. The device is robust (drop resistance from ~1 m, dust protection in switch areas), has a backlit display for visibility in low light, auto-hold and MAX/MIN/PEAK reading capabilities, relative value display, internal memory for storing up to several hundred readings, and the option for USB or optical communication to download data or work in real time with a PC.

Practically speaking, it’s a tool for precision tasks: measuring ripple, inverter outputs, small signal currents, etc. It also performs well in ambient conditions over a wide temperature range, and its battery usage is optimized for field or lab work.
