Hioki FT3151 Analog Earth Tester
The FT3151 is an analog earth (ground) resistance tester that supports both two-pole and three-pole measurement methods. It covers a wide resistance range (0 to 1150 Ω), offers selectable measurement frequencies to reduce interference, and includes built-in lead winders for easier setup and pack-up.
Description
The FT3151 is designed to reliably measure grounding resistance in varied field environments. You can switch between the three-electrode (precise) and two-electrode (simple) methods depending on site requirements. It uses an AC potentiometer system, operating at either 575 Hz or 600 Hz, which helps mitigate distortion from power supply harmonics. The tester handles resistance measurements up to 1150 Ω via three ranges (10 Ω, 100 Ω, 1000 Ω). It also measures earth potential (voltage between the test electrode and earth) up to 30 V. The unit is powered by six AA batteries and is built with ergonomic lead winders to simplify cable handling. Overvoltage protection, auxiliary electrode checks, and a clear analog dial help maintain reliable readings under real‐world conditions.
