The device utilizes a silicon photodiode as the light-receiving element and features a large, easy-to-read LCD display with a backlight that activates automatically in low-illuminance environments.
A standout feature of the FT3424 is its timer hold function, which allows users to make measurements in remote locations while minimizing the effects of shadows and reflections. Users can select timer settings ranging from 5 to 60 seconds, with the remaining time displayed on the screen. Once the set time has elapsed, the measured value is retained, and the backlight turns on if the illuminance is less than or equal to 10 lx.
The FT3424’s internal memory can store up to 99 measured values, facilitating multipoint measurements. These stored values can be transferred to a computer via a USB connection for further analysis and reporting. The device is compatible with Windows operating systems, including Windows 7, Vista (SP1 or later), and XP (SP2 or later).
