Description

The LR8432 is designed to visualize and quantify thermal energy movement in systems by combining heat flux sensors with conventional measurement channels. It supports ten isolated analog inputs and four pulse inputs, enabling you to record a variety of signals such as voltage, temperature (thermocouples), and heat flow simultaneously. Its direct compatibility with heat flow sensors means you can input the sensor’s voltage output and configure its sensitivity in the logger so that it can compute and log the actual heat flux (e.g., in W/m²) alongside raw sensor voltages.

The device operates with fast sampling intervals down to 10 ms across all channels, allowing capture of rapid thermal fluctuations. It includes digital filtering, selectable frequency filters (50 Hz, 60 Hz, or OFF), and built-in waveform processing functions such as averaging, integration, and heat transmission coefficient calculations to help interpret and analyze thermal data.

Data is logged into internal memory (3.5 million words) and can also be stored on Compact Flash cards or USB flash drives for extended recording and easy data transfer. A bright 4.3-inch color LCD displays real-time readings and gauges, including dual display of temperature and heat flow.

For power, the LR8432 supports AC adapter input and a battery pack (model 9780) for portable use, and it can also accept an external DC source (10–16 V). Its compact form (176 × 101 × 41 mm, weighing about 550 g without battery) makes it well suited for field deployment.

In short, the LR8432 integrates direct heat flow sensing with full multichannel logging, providing a powerful tool to diagnose thermal phenomena in engineering, structural, automotive, and insulation research settings
