Hioki 3246-60 Pencil HiTester

The Hioki Pencil HiTESTER 3246-60 is designed to be ultra-portable and easy to use in tight or poorly lit spaces. Its slim pen-style body integrates test leads and has a built-in LED light at the tip so you can clearly see what you’re testing. The meter is auto-ranging for voltage, resistance, etc., which makes it simple to get measurements without having to select ranges manually; but there is also a manual‐range mode for more control. It handles DC voltage from a few hundred millivolts up to 600 V, and AC voltage too up to 600 V (averaged/rectified). Resistance range spans up to tens of megaohms. It supports typical test functions like continuity (with a buzzer) and diode testing in one direction. The display is an LCD with up to ~4200 counts, back-lit, so usable even in dim conditions. There is an auto power off (power save) feature to prevent battery drain. The device meets robust safety categories: CAT IV 300 V, CAT III 600 V, when used with the insulating sleeves on the test leads. Overload protection for many functions is provided. It runs from a small coin-type battery (CR2032), offering many hours of use, though using the light shortens battery life. Its build is durable, with test lead storage built into the body’s rear, and probe cap/insulation sleeves to protect the tip and improve safety.
