Hioki PQ3100 Power Quality Analyzer

The PQ3100 is a versatile instrument for monitoring, diagnosing, and recording disturbances in power systems. It works on single-phase or three-phase configurations, and can measure both AC and DC in multiple voltage and current ranges depending on the sensors used. It captures a wide set of parameters — from RMS and peak values through harmonics, flicker, unbalance, imbalance, power factor, and energy usage — all with high precision. When an anomaly (such as a dip, swell, failure, or other transient) occurs, the instrument records the waveform starting one second before the event and continues for ten seconds after, providing crucial insight into what led up to and what followed the disturbance. It includes user-friendly setup features to simplify wiring and configuration (e.g. detecting phase order or clamp direction). The analyzer powers its connected current sensors directly, so external power supplies are not necessary for those sensors. It supports long-term trend logging, event capturing, and can generate reports using bundled software. Interfaces include memory card storage, USB, LAN, and wireless data link via a serial adapter. It runs on battery or AC adapter, and has a color display for on-device viewing.
