Hioki PQ3198 Power Quality Analyzer

The Hioki PQ3198 is an advanced, portable instrument engineered to deliver highly accurate, continuous, gapless monitoring of power quality in single- or three-phase AC systems. Designed to comply with the IEC 61000-4-30 Edition 3 Class A standard, the PQ3198 captures a wide range of phenomena — from voltage fluctuations, dips, swells, and interruptions, to harmonics, supraharmonics (high-order harmonics), and rapid transient voltages (up to 6,000 V peak, with frequency content up to ~700 kHz). It supports up to 6,000 A current measurement (using appropriate sensors), and offers dual-circuit measurements so that you can monitor, for example, input and output circuits simultaneously (such as with inverters or rapid EV charger systems). The instrument’s fourth voltage channel is isolated from the first three, enabling flexible measurement configurations. It supports measurement in different fundamental frequencies (40-70 Hz) and up to 400 Hz line systems, making it suitable for industrial, aviation, maritime, or renewable energy applications. Also included are extended logging capabilities (up to thousands of events and long trend data), various interfaces (LAN, USB, etc.), and optional GPS module for precise time-synchronization of multiple units. Data analysis, report creation, and standard compliance judgments (e.g. EN 50160, IEEE etc.) are facilitated via bundled PC software.
