Description

The RM3545 is designed for rigorous resistance testing across components, coils, connectors, and other devices. It supports an exceptionally wide resistance measurement range, from microohm levels up to hundreds of megohms, delivering extremely fine resolution (as low as 0.01 µΩ in favorable ranges). Its basic accuracy is high (around 0.006%), ensuring that results are reliable even for delicate measurements.

To enhance measurement quality, the RM3545 includes an Offset Voltage Correction (OVC) function to reduce errors caused by thermal electromotive force (EMF). It supports multiple test current levels—such as 1 A, 1 mA, etc.—to optimize the signal depending on the resistance under test and minimize heating effects. Measurement voltages are kept low (e.g. 20 mV or less in many ranges) to protect sensitive parts and avoid influencing the readings.

The instrument supports external triggering, comparator judgments (HI / OK / LO), delay settings, and can store measurement data internally. Interface options like RS-232C, USB, and EXT I/O allow integration with automation systems or PC control. Some models in the series also offer a multiplexer option for switching among multiple channels for automated multi-point testing.

Mechanically, the unit is built for stable operation in a lab or production environment, with careful circuit design to mitigate noise, floating measurement paths for isolation, and support for offset compensation and retry logic to maintain precision under various conditions.
