Description

The RM3545A is engineered for accurate resistance measurements across a broad spectrum—from very low resistances (milliohms or µΩ) to high resistances (MΩ). Using four-terminal (Kelvin) measurement techniques, it minimizes errors from lead and contact resistance, ensuring that readings reflect only the sample under test.

It offers flexible test currents, allowing high current on low-resistance ranges for better signal levels and stability. For higher resistance ranges, lower currents are used to avoid heating or damaging the device under test. The unit maintains high basic accuracy (around ±0.006 %) and fine resolution (down to 0.01 µΩ in some ranges), making it suitable for precision tasks like checking motor windings, relay contacts, and connectors.

A distinguishing feature is its ability to interface with a multiplexer (e.g. optional channel selector unit), enabling automated multi-point resistance measurements across many channels without manual reconnection. The meter supports fast measurement speeds and provides features like comparator (HI/OK/LO) judgments, external I/O for system integration, and data logging capability.

Physically, it is built with a rugged chassis suitable for laboratory and industrial environments. The user interface includes clear displays, control buttons, and status indicators. Connectivity options (e.g., USB, GPIB) likely exist depending on the specific model variant. Overall, the RM3545A balances precision, flexibility, and automation readiness for professional resistance measurement tasks.
