Hioki FT6380-50 Clamp On Earth Tester

The Hioki FT6380-50 is a versatile and compact clamp-on earth resistance tester engineered for testing grounding systems in various applications, including substations, communication towers, and industrial installations. Unlike traditional methods that require auxiliary grounding rods, the FT6380-50 simplifies the process by allowing users to clamp directly onto multiple-grounded conductors, eliminating the need to disconnect the ground wire from the grounding rod.

This instrument measures grounding resistance by injecting a defined voltage into the multi-grounded system and calculating the total circuit loop resistance based on the defined voltage and measured current. The FT6380-50 provides true RMS measurements for AC currents ranging from 20.00 mA to 60.0 A, with a high resolution of 0.01 mA in the 20.00 mA range, ensuring accurate detection of leakage currents. It also offers an earthing resistance measurement range from 0.20 Ω to 1600 Ω, with a resolution of 0.01 Ω in the 0.20 Ω range, suitable for assessing the effectiveness of grounding systems.

Designed for durability, the FT6380-50 features a slim jaw that can clamp onto conductors up to 32 mm in diameter, making it suitable for use in confined spaces. Its IP40 rating ensures protection against dust and water ingress, allowing for reliable operation in various environmental conditions. The instrument is powered by two LR6 (AA) alkaline batteries, providing approximately 40 hours of continuous operation without the Z3210 adapter and about 35 hours with the adapter installed.

For enhanced functionality, the FT6380-50 is compatible with the optional Z3210 wireless adapter, enabling Bluetooth communication with the GENNECT Cross app. This feature allows users to wirelessly transfer measurement data to mobile devices, facilitating data analysis, report generation, and remote monitoring.
