Hioki IR4018-20 Insulation Tester

Description
The IR4018-20 is a rugged analog “HiTester” designed for insulation resistance diagnostics under demanding conditions. It delivers a fixed 1000 V DC test voltage, allowing measurements of insulation from the low end up to approximately 2000 MΩ, making it suitable for medium to high voltage insulation checks. Its luminous (LED-illuminated) scale enables clear readings even in dimly lit environments. After each test, the instrument automatically discharges any stored voltage, ensuring safety. A live-circuit detection feature warns the user if residual or external voltage is present in the circuit under test. The unit is engineered to survive a drop from 1 meter onto concrete, making it robust enough for field use. It also supports AC voltage measurement over 0–600 V (50/60 Hz) for quick line checks, and includes overload protection (up to ~1200 V for short durations). The IR4018-20 is powered by four AA batteries and designed for portability and reliability in routine insulation testing tasks.
