Extech PQ2071 1-/3-Phase 1000A True RMS AC Power Clamp Meter
The Extech PQ2071 is a versatile True RMS clamp-meter designed for single-phase and balanced three-phase systems, capable of handling currents up to 1000 A and delivering full power-analysis (active, apparent, reactive), power factor and phase-angle measurement in one handheld tool.
Description
The PQ2071 is built for demanding electrical diagnostics, energy audits, and system commissioning work. It functions not just as a high-range current clamp, but also as a full power meter, multimeter and AC-voltage detector. With a large 55 mm jaw opening it accommodates large conductors or bundled cables, and it supports current measurements up to 1000 A along with voltages to around 750 V AC. The instrument calculates and displays true power (kW), apparent power (kVA), reactive power (kVAR), and cumulative energy (kWh), as well as power factor and phase angle across one or three phases without re-clamping or changing test leads. It features a dual backlit LCD display, built-in non-contact voltage detector for quick field checks, a USB interface for data-logging to PC, storage for multiple data sets, and familiar clamp-meter functions like Min/Max, Data-Hold and auto-power-off. With its safety rating suitable for high-demand installations and robust build, the PQ2071 is a practical all-in-one tool for professionals who need to monitor power quality, verify efficiencies, and troubleshoot large electrical systems.
