The Extech MA120 is a compact clamp meter that can measure both AC and DC current up to 200 A, and also includes a built-in non-contact AC voltage detector plus a flashlight. It’s meant for electricians and field technicians who need a lightweight, multi-function diagnostic tool.
Description
The MA120 Mini Clamp Meter integrates multiple useful features into a small form factor. With a 0.7″ (≈ 18 mm) jaw opening, it handles conductors including 300 MCM. It measures AC current up to 200 A with 100 mA resolution and DC current up to 200 A (resolution 0.1 A). Accuracy for AC is ±3 % of reading plus 8 digits; for DC it’s ±3 %. It also detects non-contact AC voltage (approx. 100 V to 600 V, 50/60 Hz) using a sensor at the clamp tip. The meter automatically ranges, offers data hold, and has auto power off to conserve battery. It also lets you measure frequency up to 1 kHz (resolution 0.01 Hz) by clamping a conductor. A built-in LED flashlight helps in dim environments. The housing is compact and light, powered by two AAA batteries, with safety ratings appropriate for general electrical work.
